Sofia Vergara is an actress and a model who was born on July 10, 1972, in Barranquilla, Colombia in a close knit family which consisted of five brothers and sisters in total, and was nicknamed "La Toti" by her family.

Sofia studied a lot and took school very seriously. When she wasn't studying, she surrounded herself with music, whether it was watching her family sing, dance or play instruments, or listening to her favorite group 'Menudo'.

Sofia spent a lot of time with her father on his farm where she loved to ride the horses. Sofia was a student at a bilingual elementary school, where she perfected her English skills.

Married at 18 to a marriage that is now over, Sofia got her greatest love of all out of it, her son, 'Manolo' who was born in 1992.

It could of been all so different though for Sofia as after Manolo was born she studied to be a dentist, but I am sure we are all glad she chose a different path,although she would of made going to the dentist a lot easier if she was your dentist.

Sofia was discovered by a photographer while walking on a beach in Colombia, Sofia soon started getting modelling offers and Sofia decided to try her hand at it.

After appearing in a Pepsi ad Sofia then moved out at the age of 20 and moved to 'Bogotá', where she worked on the runway and in television.

Probably Sofia's claim to fame was her co-hosting a show with 'Fernando Fiore' on 'Fuera de Serie', a show which sent her all over the world. Sofia co-hosted itfrom 1995 to 1999, it gave Sofia exposure in America and helped make her a star in the Latin American market and then went on to appear in other things like 'Acapulco cuerpo y alma' and 'A que no te atreves'.

Sofia's most recent work though has been acting appearing in a few films and working on more films for the future. (Filmography is below).
